Internet of Things with Python APSSDC

Course Overview

The only criterion APSSDC follows for creating Courses and arranging training activities for students is the benefit it will have for the student in getting Job. Python is a robust Programming language. As a proof there exists a version of Python exists for Real-time embedded systems, IoT, Data Analytics, Data Sciences… with Libraries and each version with huge developer base and forums. It is this robustness of the language and the opportunities available in the above mentioned areas, each area with a large pool of Developers requirement, that we decided to offer this Summer Program with just these two components i.e., Python and IoT and expose the students more on these lines with the progressing academic year. The syntax of the language is clean and length of the code is relatively short. It's fun to work in Python because it allows you to think about the problem rather than focusing on the syntax.
Python component starts with general data types, string manipulation and proceeds to lists, Tuples, dictionaries onto functions and modules before ending with I/O mechanism and exception handling.

IoT part lets the students connect, though conceptually, to the real-time and real–world problem solving and making applications using embedded systems, the Raspberry Pi Platform, and the Arduino environment, starting with the most basics of the circuitry from their existing syllabus. They will be exposed to the topics sequentially starting with making circuits for building devices that can control the physical world.

As mentioned earlier students will be offered Courses that build on the momentum from the Summer Program and are encouraged to enroll the subsequent programs. Hands-on practice with various hardware tools are being pipelined, as Workshops, for students to experiment with and explore.

Course Outcomes

★ You can learn the basics of Internet of Things , Python and its applications.

★ By the completion of course you will Know how to work on Raspberry Pi platform, Arduino environment, other such microcontrollers.

★ You will gain Knowledge of various types of sensors available and the usage.

★ You will have knowledge of numerous network technologies to connect the hardware(M2M).

★ You will be made aware of the sectors or fields where IoT based jobs are available so as to make a decision and pursue the choice.
